NUTP is short form for National Union of the Teaching Profession (Peninsular Malaysia).

NUTP is a union formed by teachers for teachers in 1974. It is the result of the combination of National Union of Teachers (NUT) and National School Teachers National Union.

What are its Objectives?
NUTP as a union that protects teachers and the teaching profession is always concerned about the services of teachers, its business relationship, special privileges and other matters related to the teaching profession.

It improves the welfare of members in the social and material aspects by following the laws of a workers union.

Besides helping teachers to understand their role in fulfilling he country's Education Philosophy, NUTP also strives to improve the image and professionalism of teachers.
What are its Achievements?
NUTP has been successful among other things, in getting basic facilities for teachers as a result of the "Historic Strike" by NUT in the years 1965-1967. The basic facilities are:
