Maid levy: Down from RM754 to RM550
Childcare subsidy: Up to maximum of Rm880
The Singapore Government unveiled a S$300 million (RM669 million) additional annual package to encour age couples to have more children and reverse an alarming fall in the birth rate.
The package, which improves on existing incentives, including tax relief, an extra month of maternity leave on top of the current two months, and lower levies for the right to employ a foreign maid to look after children
From Aug 1,couples with a child aged below 12 will pay a levy of only S$250 a month to the government if they employ a foreign maid compared to the standard S$345.
