NUTP has a membership of 135,000 teachers. It is the largest trade union in Malaysia. 70% of the teachers who are organised are NUTP members. 65% of NUTP members are women.

Any teacher can become a member of NUTP. They would have to fill in the membership form and send it to their respective branches. Membership fees will be deducted through their salaries via ANGKASA.

All teachers should become members of NUTP to strengthen the profession's strive to achieve and enjoy various benefits.

By being a member of NUTP, we shall together build it as the only national and international teachers' union to uphold the honour of techers and the influence of the teaching profession in Malaysia.

Its membership is open to all teachers regardless of their level, qualification, race, religion, training or political belief.
