TYPES of Membership |
There are three types of membership:

 Ordinary Membership |
Application to become a member must be made and approved by any NUTP branch, which has the right not to approve any application without giving any reason (P3.2). The basic condition to become a member is merely being a teacher in a government school and they must be over 18 years old.

Associate Membership |
| |
Open to all retired members or those who have resigned from teaching.
Fees due annually amounts up to only RM 18.00.
Members are eligible to subscribe to the Death Benefit Fund.

Honorary Membership |
| |
Membership is conferred to any member or individual who has contributed excellent service to NUTP or to the education profession. Membership is approved by the delegates conference on the recommendation of the Executive Council. Honorary members have no voting rights but have all other rights like an ordinary member.
