YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, at that time the Education Minister, officiated the launching of the logo as well as launched the official logo of NUTP and as a token of appreciation, Tun Dr. Mahathir received a NUTP engraved plaque from NUTP President, Tuan Hj Ahmad bin Abdul Rahman.
