Promotion from DG44 to DG48 – Suggestions and Demands of NUTP
Explanation of the following statement;
“to include the years of service as non-graduate teachers”
For Grade DGA29/32/34/38 teachers who are now in Grade DG44, their teaching experience as non-graduate teachers will be considered for promotion to DG48, in which for every 3 years of service as non-graduates, they will be given one year of teaching experience, subject to the maximum of 3 years of teaching experience.
Example:
A teacher in Grade DG44 who has served for 7 years as a graduate teacher and was a non-graduate teacher for 9 years will be given 3 years of teaching experience for promotion to Grade DG48.
DG44 = 7 years
DGA29/32/34/38 = 3 years of teaching experience
(9 years of service as non-graduate)
Total = 10 years
(Eligible to apply for promotion to DG48)
Calculation of teaching experience as non-graduate:
3 years of service will be given 1 year
5 years of service will be given 1 year
6 years of service will be given 2 years
8 years of service will be given 2 years
9 years of service will be given 3 years
Above 10 years of service will be given 3 years
